In April of 1917, the Réserve Mallet was formed. In addition to driving ambulances, AFS volunteers would be chauffeuring trucks bringing military supplies and personnel to the front.
The Reserve Mallet was a group of Americans who drove trucks for the French Army, transporting ammunition, tanks and cannon to the frontlines.
