The Air Surveillance Command Fighter Wing is an active component of the Austria's airspace monitoring system. Its pilots are permanently available for air policing tasks in order to identify and, if necessary, intercept unauthorized invading aircraft. The wing consists of three fighter squadrons: Fighter Squadron 1 and 2 (Eurofighter Typhoon jets) and Fighter Trainer Squadron (18 x Saab 105Ö jets), Training and Simulation Center, Training company, Staff company and Administration company. The wing is stationed in Zeltweg and Hörsching.
