POLAND 6th Airborne Brigade, 6th Airborne Battalion Mountain Warfare qualification bagde

Polish breast badge for each unit of the Polish 6th Airborne Brigade, for members which completed a specialized mountain operations course. The climbing axe and rope are superimposed/raised on the badge. Reportedly, this badge was made in the early 1990's and only issued 2 or 3 times to conscripts from the 6th Airborne Brigade who graduated from a climbing course. Chute & Dagger (UK) magazine (Winter 2009 edition) indicates that there were only 100 of these badges made for the battalion. Each battalion had its own emblem on the badge. The Polish inscription translates to ROCK CLIMBING. The badge has one screw post on the reverse with a round Polish fastener nut.
