The decoration is awarded upon completing a required conditions ( positive evaluation report, First Aid Course, NBC Test, Basic Fitness Test, Pistol Marksmanship Event, Foot March, 100 meter swim in Military Uniform ) and worn by German soldiers of all ranks. Allied soldiers may also be awarded the badge, subject to their nations' uniform regulations.
