838th Unit was the Israeli Navy unit, based in Ras Suder in the northern Gulf of Suez. The unit, which operated armed ships and a radar station, was established in September- 1968 and disbanded in November- 1975, following the signing of an interim agreement between Israel and Egypt as part of the evacuation of the Sinai Peninsula by the IDF.
